Abstract

Empowering Mitra Tani Maju Makmur and the PKK of Sawangan Village in Local Economic Development through Palm Sugar Production and the Utilization of TOGA-LAMPOT

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase economic independence and community production capacity through the empowerment of Mitra Tani Maju Makmur and the Sawangan Village PKK group based on the potential of local resources. The main problems of partners include low skills in processing agricultural products into value-added products and the lack of optimal use of yard land. The program is carried out with a participatory approach through the stages of socialization, training, technical assistance, and evaluation. The main activities include training on the production of ant sugar based on coconut sap using simple and hygienic technology and the use of family medicinal plants (TOGA) through the potting land system (LAMPOT). In addition, business management, product packaging, and digital marketing training were carried out. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of partners by 78% based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, as well as an increase in the production capacity of ant sugar by 35% after the program took place. TOGA-LAMPOT ant and processed sugar products began to be marketed independently in the village environment and through online media. This activity contributes to strengthening the local economy and increasing people's income and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
