Empowering the Weaving Artisan Community through the AGET Application in Pringgasela Village, East Lombok
Abstract
This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of the weaving artisan community in Pringgasela Village, East Lombok Regency, through the implementation of the AGET (Application, Guide, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism) platform as an integrated digital ecosystem. The primary challenges encountered by the community included weak business management practices, reliance on conventional marketing approaches, limited digital literacy, and inadequate utilization of technology to support production and distribution activities. The program involved 48 artisans affiliated with the Nine Penenun Group (KNP) and the Sasambo Batik Weaving Group (KTBS), and was conducted over a four-month period from May to August 2025. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach encompassing cyclical stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection, implemented through training sessions, participatory mentoring, and technology integration activities. The findings revealed improvements across all measured indicators, with an N-gain score of 0.61, categorized as moderate improvement. These results were further supported by a statistically significant paired sample t-test (p < 0.05) and a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.21). In addition, 75% of participants were able to independently operate the AGET application, while marketing outreach expanded beyond the local area to the regional level. These findings suggest that a technology-driven approach combined with participatory assistance demonstrates considerable potential in enhancing digital capabilities and strengthening the business competitiveness of local wisdom-based artisan communities in a sustainable manner.
