Abstract

Atlet sepak bola wanita memiliki risiko cedera yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan atlet pria, khususnya pada fase pra-kompetisi akibat peningkatan intensitas latihan yang tidak diimbangi dengan program pemulihan terstruktur. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesiapan fisik pra-kompetisi atlet sepak bola wanita Kota Banjarbaru melalui program edukasi pencegahan cedera berbasis stretching terstruktur dan self-myofascial release (SMR) menggunakan foam roller. Program dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4–31 Mei 2026, diawali tahap persiapan modul/SOP dan koordinasi mitra, dilanjutkan pelaksanaan lapangan dalam empat pertemuan (10, 17, 24, dan 31 Mei 2026) yang melibatkan 27 atlet. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test, sit and reach test, serta Visual Analog Scale (VAS), dianalisis dengan uji Paired Sample t-Test menggunakan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman atlet dari rata-rata 9,74 menjadi 14,52 (p < 0,001), peningkatan fleksibilitas dari 9,59 cm menjadi 13,74 cm (p < 0,001), dan penurunan skor nyeri otot dari 5,70 menjadi 0,37 (p < 0,001). Seluruh variabel menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,05) dengan besaran efek (Cohen's d) yang besar. Program edukasi pencegahan cedera berbasis stretching dan self-myofascial release menunjukkan hasil positif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, fleksibilitas, dan menurunkan nyeri otot atlet sepak bola wanita sebagai bagian dari kesiapan pra-kompetisi, sekaligus berkontribusi pada pencapaian SDG 3 dan konteks kesetaraan akses layanan olahraga (SDG 5).

Stretching and Self-Myofascial Release Based Injury Prevention Education for Female Football Athletes in Banjarbaru City

Abstract

Female soccer athletes face a higher injury risk than male athletes, particularly during the pre-competition phase due to increased training intensity without a structured recovery program. This community service program aimed to improve the pre-competition physical readiness of female soccer athletes in Banjarbaru City through an injury prevention education program based on structured stretching and self-myofascial release (SMR) using a foam roller. The program was conducted from May 4 to 31, 2026, beginning with module/SOP preparation and partner coordination, followed by field implementation across four sessions (May 10, 17, 24, and 31, 2026) involving 27 athletes. Evaluation used pre-test and post-test questionnaires, a sit and reach test, and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), analyzed using a one-group pretest-posttest design with a Paired Sample t-Test. Results showed an increase in athletes' understanding from 9.74 to 14.52 (p < .001), an increase in flexibility from 9.59 cm to 13.74 cm (p < .001), and a decrease in muscle pain scores from 5.70 to 0.37 (p < .001). All variables showed significant differences (p < .05) with large effect sizes (Cohen's d). The injury prevention education program based on stretching and self-myofascial release showed positive effects on improving knowledge, flexibility, and reducing muscle soreness in female soccer athletes as part of pre-competition readiness, while also contributing to the achievement of SDG 3 and the broader context of equitable access to sport-support services (SDG 5).
