Revitalization of Oyster Mushroom Enterprises through Corn Cob-Based Baglog Innovation in Krobungan Village, Probolinggo Regency
Abstract
The oyster mushroom micro-enterprise “Tiramku” in Krobungan Village, Probolinggo Regency, faces several challenges, including limited availability of sawdust as a raw material, manually performed baglog production processes, suboptimal business management, and limited marketing access. This community service program aimed to improve the capacity and empowerment of the partner through the utilization of corn cobs as an alternative baglog medium, the application of appropriate technology, business management strengthening, and digital marketing. The program was implemented through observation and problem identification, program socialization, training, hands-on practice, application of corn cob chopping, media mixing, and baglog pressing machines, mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results showed that the partner was able to apply production technology and utilize corn cobs as an alternative material for baglog media. The empowerment evaluation showed an increase in the production aspect score from 1.4 to 2.8, while the management and marketing aspect score increased from 1.25 to 3.0. These improvements indicate the development of the partner’s technical, managerial, and marketing capabilities following training, technology implementation, and mentoring. The program provides an initial indication of improved partner capacity in integrating local resource utilization, appropriate technology, business management, and digital marketing. Further testing of media formulation, baglog productivity, production efficiency, and marketing performance is required to determine the impact of the innovation on business performance and its long-term sustainability
