Masyarakat Desa Mura, Kecamatan Brang Ene, Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, hingga saat ini masih mempertahankan tradisi bayar niat sebagai warisan budaya lokal yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai spiritual dan sosial. Tradisi ini dilaksanakan sebagai wujud syukur kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas terhindarnya seseorang dari penyakit atau musibah, serta sebagai bentuk pemenuhan nazar yang telah diucapkan sebelumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna simbolik yang terkandung dalam tradisi bayar niat pada masyarakat Desa Mura, Kecamatan Brang Ene, Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Tradisi bayar niat ini merupakan ritual adat sebagai wujud syukur masyarakat kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas terhindarnya seseorang dari penyakit atau musibah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Sumber data diperoleh melalui wawancara tidak terstuktur, observasi non-partisipan, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi bayar niat mengandung empat dimensi makna simbolik: (1) makna denotatif, yaitu pemenuhan janji atau nazar spiritual melalui serangkaian tahapan ritual
