Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh latihan kombinasi gerak lengan free single arm dan konvensional menggunakan hand paddle dan fins terhadap kecepatan renang 50 meter gaya kupu-kupu. Metode penelitian menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel berjumlah 12 atlet yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria aktif berlatih, sehat, dan menguasai teknik dasar gaya kupu-kupu. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes renang 50 meter gaya kupu-kupu dengan stopwatch, peluit, dan lembar pencatatan waktu. Perlakuan diberikan selama 18 pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata waktu tempuh menurun dari 33,43 detik menjadi 30,85 detik, sedangkan kecepatan meningkat dari 150,17 cm/s menjadi 162,75 cm/s. Uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai t-hitung 9,3549 lebih besar daripada t-tabel 1,796.

The Effect of Combined Free Single Arm and Conventional Arm Movement Training Using Hand Paddles and Fins on 50-Meter Butterfly Swimming Speed

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of combined free single arm and conventional arm movement training using hand paddles and fins on 50-meter butterfly swimming speed. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 12 athletes selected through purposive sampling based on active training participation, physical readiness, and mastery of basic butterfly technique. The research instrument was a 50-meter butterfly swimming test using a stopwatch, whistle, and performance recording sheet. The intervention was conducted over 18 training sessions. The results showed that the mean swimming time decreased from 33.43 seconds to 30.85 seconds, while swimming speed increased from 150.17 cm/s to 162.75 cm/s. The paired sample t-test showed that the calculated t-value of 9.3549 was higher than the t-table value of 1.796.
