The Effect of Shadow Training on Agility and Balance in PB. Perampuan Badminton Athletes
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the improvement in agility and balance among PB. Perampuan badminton athletes after shadow training. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was used. The sample consisted of 10 athletes selected through total sampling. The instruments were a shadow badminton agility test and the Y-Balance Test to assess dynamic balance. The intervention consisted of four weeks of shadow training, performed three times per week. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity testing, and a paired sample t-test. The results showed that agility improved from 12.40 to 16.00 points, with t = -8.433; df = 9; p < .001. Balance improved from 40.99 cm to 43.32 cm, with t = -4.204; df = 9; p < .001. In conclusion, agility and balance significantly improved after shadow training, although the findings should be interpreted cautiously because there was no control group.
