HR Improvement Through Social Media Literacy in Dealing with Hoaxes
The purpose of this activity is to increase human resources through social media literacy in the perspective of sharing information and skills in preventing the spread of hoaxes. The partners of this activity are 1 (one) partner, namely the community assisted by the Course and Training Institute (LKP) of the “Petra Cilik” Kupang Cultural Arts Studio. The method used in educating and training the participants is a workshop. There were 49 activity participants who were determined using the Slovin technique at a probability of 10% of the total population of LKP Petra Cilik (activity partners) of 98 people. The results of the training showed that most of the participants, namely 46 participants (93.88%) were able to use social media, analyze and criticize information messages that were hoaxes. Meanwhile, 3 (three) participants (6.12%) were able to use social media and analyze existing information messages. Thus, this training resulted in an increase in individual knowledge and skills in counteracting hoaxes, namely being smart and constructive in responding-receiving-distributing information received and being able to avoid the spread of hoaxes. The implication is that individuals are able to minimize the spread of hoaxes and their negative impact on society.
