Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Wonorejo Kecamatan Singosari Kabupaten Malang Melalui Edukasi Pengelolaan Sampah

The issue of waste management has become one of the complex problems faced by all countries around the world, whether they are developing or developed nations. The Directorate General of Waste Management, Hazardous Waste, and B3 of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) stated that in 2021, the total waste in Indonesia reached 68.5 million tons, and in 2022, this number increased to 70 million tons. Efforts are needed to overcome the waste problem, one of which is by utilizing waste press technology. Waste presses are devices or machines used to compress or sort waste into a denser or more compact form. The waste press is equipped with a module as a reading book for waste processing. Based on observations, Wonorejo Village, Singosari Subdistrict, Malang Regency is one of the areas that has not done waste management properly. Population growth in Wonorejo Village is increasing rapidly which makes the area increasingly full of residential land so that there is no Temporary Disposal Site (TPS). Wonorejo Village is also one of the areas that has not been served in coverage because of its remote location and difficult to reach by janitors. This activity is divided into 4 stages, the planning stage, the media preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation monitoring stage. The activity ran smoothly and conducive and there was interest in the participants with the material provided by the speaker regarding waste processing and management.
