Prevention of Anemia in Adolescent Girls
The aim of this program is to enhance young women's knowledge about anemia, identify their nutritional status, and provide Iron Supplement Tablets (TTD). The program's partner is Posyandu Bukit Tinggi in Bukit Tinggi village, West Lombok, with 46 young women participating. The implementation methods included a 45-minute educational lecture and a 60-minute Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement. The educational material covered the definition of anemia, its causes, symptoms, prevention, and care for those with anemia. BMI measurements were conducted by weighing and measuring the height of the participants, and four iron tablets were given to be taken weekly. The results showed an increase in the knowledge of young women from a sufficient category (70%) to a good category (82%) after the education. Additionally, most young women were found to be underweight. The program recommends the continuation of anemia prevention programs to ensure that anemia incidence does not increase among young women in Bukit Tinggi. This program aligns with global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in ending hunger and ensuring healthy lives and well-being.
