Clean Water Technology Extension with Chitosan in Belener Village, Cianjur
This community service activity aims to introduce chitosan-based technology to improve water quality in Belener Village, Cianjur Regency. The partners in this program are local farmers facing water contamination issues caused by agricultural runoff. The implementation method uses the Science Technology Society (STS) approach, emphasizing hands-on knowledge and skill development. The results demonstrated increased participant understanding of chitosan's benefits as a natural coagulant, effectively purifying water with up to 95% efficiency. Practical demonstrations and training activities generated high enthusiasm, with 70% of participants rating the material as highly relevant to their needs. The conclusion of this program highlights chitosan technology as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution for water quality issues. Recommendations include replicating the program in other areas while strengthening collaborations between academics, governments, and communities
