Teknik analisa data menggunakan model miles and huberman.
Perceptions of Mothers of Toddlers on the Use of Traditional-Based Medicinal Plants as Appetite Enhancers in Efforts to Prevent Stunting
Abstract
Stunting is still a priority problem in West Nusa Tenggara Province, especially in Bima Regency. One of the causes of nutritional problems is a lack of food intake because children have difficulty eating. However, Bima Regency has various medicinal plants based on local natural ingredients to increase the appetite of toddlers who have trouble eating. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of mothers of toddlers regarding the use of traditional-based medicinal plants as appetite enhancers in increasing appetite in toddlers as an effort to prevent stunting. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The focus of the research is to find out more deeply about the perceptions of mothers of toddlers regarding the use of traditional-based medicinal plants as appetite enhancers in efforts to prevent stunting. The selection of informants used purposive and snowball techniques. Data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Data validity techniques use source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the research were that mothers of toddlers who used medicinal plants to increase the appetite of their toddlers had the perception that medicinal plants were efficacious in increasing the appetite of their toddlers, felt they were safer to use because they were without chemicals and had been used for generations. The family plays a very important role in supporting the use of medicinal plants to increase appetite, so that mothers of toddlers do not give up quickly in parenting children who have difficulty eating.
