Abstract

Pengoptimalan router nirkabel menjadi semakin penting dalam era konektivitas yang meningkat pesat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kinerja router Xiaomi Mi Router 4A dengan firmware bawaan dan OpenWRT, dengan fokus pada perbandingan fitur guna mengoptimalkan fungsionalitas perangkat keras. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi perbedaan yang signifikan dalam fitur yang ditawarkan oleh kedua firmware ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa literasi review dan analisis terkait fitur yang diberikan oleh firmware bawaan maupun firmware OpenWRT. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang jelas dimana firmware OpenWRT lebih unggul dari aspek Kinerja, Stabilitas, Keamanan, Flesibilitas, dukungna komunitas, Research platform, Konfigurasi, dan Zero Cost jika dibandingkan dengan firmware bawaan dari router Xiaomi MI Router 4A. Fleksibilitas menjadi poin penting, dimana OpenWrt menyediakan lebih dari 27.000 paket yang siap diinstal dan mudah. Sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa pemilihan firmware secara signifikan dapat mempengaruhi fungsionalitas dan kemampuan router Xiaomi Mi Router 4A.

Comparison of Xiaomi Mi Router 4A Router Performance with Default Firmware and OpenWRT in Functionality Optimization

Abstract

Wireless router optimization is becoming increasingly important in an era of rapidly increasing connectivity. This research aims to compare the performance of the Xiaomi Mi Router 4A router with stock firmware and OpenWRT, with a focus on comparing features to optimize hardware functionality. The main focus of the research was to identify significant differences in the features offered by these two firmwares. The method used in this research is a literary review and analysis regarding the features provided by the default firmware and OpenWRT firmware. The research results show that there are clear differences where the OpenWRT firmware is superior in terms of Performance, Stability, Security, Flexibility, Community Support, Research Platform, Configuration and Zero Cost when compared to the default firmware of the Xiaomi MI Router 4A router. Flexibility is a crucial point, as OpenWrt provides over 27,000 readily installable and easily accessible packages. Therefore, it can be stated that the choice of firmware significantly influences the functionality and capabilities of the Xiaomi Mi Router 4A.
