Relationship between Eating Patterns and Nutritional Status of Class 5 Students at SDN 2 Cakranegara
Abstract
The nutritional status of school-aged children is influenced by, among other things, eating patterns. Inappropriate eating patterns will cause children to experience difficulties in receiving lessons. Eating patterns are seen from the amount, type and frequency of food consumed. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between eating patterns and nutritional status in grade 5 students at SDN 2 Cakranegara. The type of research used is Analytical Observation with a Cross-Sectional approach. The population in this study were all 5th grade students at SDN 2 Cakranegara with a total of 112 people and a sample of 88 people. From the research results, most of the respondents' eating patterns were based on: the amount of food consumed was good, 51 people (58%), the type of food consumed was complete, 55 people (62.5%) and the frequency of food consumed was often, namely 71 people (80.7%). The majority of respondents with good (normal) nutritional status were 52 people (59.1%). Diet patterns based on the amount of food consumed, which were categorized as good with good nutritional status (normal), had the highest number of respondents, namely 51 people (58%). Based on the results of statistical tests on the relationship between eating patterns based on the amount, type and frequency of food consumed, a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, which means there is a significant relationship between eating patterns based on the amount, type and frequency of food and the nutritional status of grade 5 students at SDN 2 Cakranegara. It is necessary to provide knowledge regarding balanced eating patterns in elementary schools, both directly to students and education to teachers, as well as monitoring students' nutritional status regularly.
