Hubungan Antara Kecakapan Berpikir Saintifik dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa pada Pembelajaran Komputasi Terapan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecakapan berpikir saintifik dan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran komputasi terapan. Desain penelitian ini adalah korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi (PTI) Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika (UNDIKMA) yang mengikuti mata kuliah komputasi terapan pada semester genap tahun akademik 2023/2024, dengan sampel sebanyak 30 mahasiswa yang di ambil menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes. Hasil pengujian validitas instrumen tes menggunakan metode corrected item-total correction atau bivariate pearson yaitu membandingkan skor amatan dengan keseluruhan skor total tes, dimana menunjukkan bahwa korelasi setiap butir soal dengan skor total pada kedua instrumen lebih besar daripada nilai r tabel sebesar 0,576, hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa instrumen layak untuk digunakan. Kedua instrumen juga reliabel untuk digunakan mengacu pada nilai Cronbach's Alpha sebesar 0.912 untuk instrumen tes kecakapan berpikir saintifik dan 0,876 untuk tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Uji prasyarat analisis berupa uji normalitas menggunakan uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan Shapiro-Wilk menunjukkan bahwa data terdistribusi normal (p > 0.05), dan uji linearitas menggunakan scatterplot dan analisis regresi menunjukkan hubungan linear antara kedua variabel (F = 3.148,181, p < 0.05). Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kecakapan berpikir saintifik dan kemampuan berpikir kritis, dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.996 (p = 0.000, p < 0.05). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi kecakapan berpikir saintifik mahasiswa, semakin tinggi pula kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Implikasi dari penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran komputasi terapan di Prodi PTI UNDIKMA dan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pengembangan pembelajaran di program studi sejenis di perguruan tinggi lainnya.
The Relationship Between Scientific Thinking Skills and Critical Thinking Abilities of Students in Applied Computing Learning
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' scientific thinking skills and critical thinking abilities in applied computing learning. The research design is correlational with a quantitative approach. The study population includes all students of the Information Technology Education (PTI) Study Program at Mandalika University of Education (UNDIKMA) who are enrolled in the applied computing course during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, with a sample of 30 students selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a test. The validity test results of the test instrument using the corrected item-total correction or bivariate Pearson method, which compares the observed scores with the total test scores, showed that the correlation of each item with the total score on both instruments was greater than the table r value of 0.576, indicating that the instruments are suitable for use. Both instruments are also reliable, as indicated by the Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.912 for the scientific thinking skills test and 0.876 for the critical thinking skills test. The prerequisite analysis test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests showed that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05), and the linearity test using scatterplots and regression analysis showed a linear relationship between the two variables (F = 3.148,181, p < 0.05). The Pearson correlation analysis results showed a significant positive relationship between scientific thinking skills and critical thinking abilities, with a correlation coefficient of 0.996 (p = 0.000, p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the higher the students' scientific thinking skills, the higher their critical thinking abilities. The implications of this research provide a significant contribution in improving the quality of applied computing learning in the PTI Study Program at UNDIKMA and can serve as a reference for the development of similar study programs in other higher education institutions.
