Abstract

The Relationship Between Pregnant Mothers’ Knowledge Leveland Husbands’ Supporttoward Frequency of ACN in Karang Taliwang Public Health Centerin

Abstract

Antenatal care is essential for the early detection of abnormalities or potential complications during pregnancy. Karang Taliwang Community Health Center is one of eleven primary healthcare centers located in the city of Mataram. A preliminary study based on secondary data from 2020 showed that the target coverage for the first ANC visit (K1) was 73.91%, while the fourth visit (K4) was 98%, both of which had not yet reached full (100%) coverage. One of the main factors contributing to the effectiveness of ANC appears to be the pregnant woman’s knowledge and the support from her husband. Therefore, these factors need to be examined scientifically through research. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the level of knowledge among pregnant women and husband support with the frequency of ANC visits. A descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional design was employed. The sample consisted of 78 respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire, and the analysis was conducted using the Contingency Coefficient (C) test. Based on the analysis using SPSS software, the relationship between pregnant women's knowledge and ANC visit frequency yielded a p-value of 0.000, which is less than the significance level of ? = 0.05. Similarly, the relationship between husband support and ANC visit frequency also resulted in a p-value of 0.000 < ? = 0.05. These results indicate a significant relationship between both the level of knowledge of pregnant women and husband support with the frequency of ANC visits at Karang Taliwang Health Center. Recommendation it is advised that the Head of the Health Center intensively enhance pregnant women's knowledge, for instance, by organizing antenatal classes that actively involve husbands in every session, to improve the level of support provided by them.
