Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of two plyometric training models, namely Single Leg Hop Progression (SLHP) and Multiple Box to Box Jump with Single Leg Landing (MBTBJ), on increasing leg muscle power and shooting speed in school-age soccer players. This study was conducted in 2025 at SMKN 1 Sekotong, utilizing a 2x2 factorial experimental design that involved 36 extracurricular soccer students, divided into two treatment groups and one control group. The research instruments included a vertical jump test to measure leg muscle power and a Dartfish Motion Analysis device to assess shooting speed. Data analysis was performed using a paired t-test and MANOVA at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that both training models had a significant effect on increasing leg muscle power and shooting speed compared to conventional training (Wilks’ ? = 0.293; p < 0.05). The MBTBJ training increased shooting speed by 3.62 seconds on average and leg muscle power by 255.83 watts, while the SLHP training increased power by 177.07 watts. The effectiveness of the MBTBJ training is attributed to its training characteristics, which emphasize higher eccentric loads and single-leg landing coordination. In contrast, the SLHP training contributes more to improving balance and dynamic stability. Both training models effectively improve shooting performance and leg explosive power, with the MBTBJ training showing greater results. The combination of the SLHP and MBTBJ training is recommended as an evidence-based training strategy to improve the performance of young players at the school level.
