The Effect of Deffecteactivating Bringing Cellphones to School on Academic Stress of Class X Students of SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari
Abstract
The advancement of technology, such as the use of mobile phones (HP), has become an integral part of students' lives. The policy of banning mobile phones in schools has sparked both support and opposition, as the ease of access previously available is now restricted, potentially affecting students' psychological conditions, one of which is academic stress. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method, involving 177 students from class X of SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari, selected from a population of 312 students. The research instrument used is a questionnaire with a 1-5 Likert scale for each variable. The Cronbach's Alpha values for variable X (the mobile phone ban policy) are 0.948 and for variable Y (academic stress) are 0.907, with 24 items for each variable. Data analysis techniques included normality testing and simple linear regression, with a significance level of p < a, where H0 is rejected if p < 0.05. The regression results show the equation Y = 115.168 + 0.596X, with a regression coefficient of b = 0.596, t-value = 10.671, and p-value < 0.001, indicating that the mobile phone ban policy significantly affects academic stress. The ANOVA test results show an F-value of 113.867 with a p-value < 0.001, indicating a significant linear influence between the mobile phone ban policy and academic stress in class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari.
