Pengaruh Kecemasan Matematika terhadap Prokrastinasi Akademik Siswa SMP Al-Ashriyah Gunung Sari

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya kecemasan matematika yang diduga berkaitan dengan munculnya perilaku prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kecemasan matematika, tingkat prokrastinasi akademik, serta hubungan prediktif antara kecemasan matematika dan prokrastinasi akademik siswa kelas VII SMP Al-Ashriyah Gunung Sari Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 20 siswa dan seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel melalui teknik sampling jenuh. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket kecemasan matematika sebanyak 29 butir dan angket prokrastinasi akademik sebanyak 26 butir yang telah memenuhi kriteria validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas Liliefors, uji linearitas, regresi linear sederhana, uji signifikansi regresi, analisis korelasi Product Moment, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecemasan matematika siswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase rata-rata 81,5%, sedangkan prokrastinasi akademik berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase rata-rata 74,5%. Analisis regresi menunjukkan adanya hubungan prediktif positif dan signifikan antara kecemasan matematika dan prokrastinasi akademik (t = 2,71; p < 0,05). Koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,54 menunjukkan hubungan pada kategori sedang, sedangkan koefisien determinasi sebesar 29% mengindikasikan bahwa kecemasan matematika berkontribusi terhadap sebagian variasi prokrastinasi akademik siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memiliki kecemasan matematika lebih tinggi cenderung menunjukkan tingkat prokrastinasi akademik yang lebih tinggi.
The Effect of Mathematics Anxiety on Academic Procrastination among Students of Al-Ashriyah Gunung Sari Junior High School
Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between mathematics anxiety and academic procrastination, motivated by the high prevalence of mathematics anxiety observed among students and its presumed association with academic task avoidance. The study aimed to analyze the level of mathematics anxiety, the level of academic procrastination, and the predictive relationship between mathematics anxiety and academic procrastination among seventh-grade students of SMP Al-Ashriyah Gunung Sari in the 2025/2026 academic year. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The population consisted of 20 students, all of whom were selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a validated 29-item Mathematics Anxiety Questionnaire and a validated 26-item Academic Procrastination Questionnaire, both demonstrating satisfactory psychometric properties. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, the Liliefors normality test, linearity test, simple linear regression, regression significance test, Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis, and coefficient of determination. The results revealed that students’ mathematics anxiety was classified as very high, with an average percentage of 81.5%, while academic procrastination was classified as high, with an average percentage of 74.5%. Regression analysis indicated a positive and significant predictive relationship between mathematics anxiety and academic procrastination (t = 2.71, p < 0.05). The correlation coefficient of 0.54 indicated a moderate relationship, while the coefficient of determination of 29% suggested that mathematics anxiety contributed to a portion of the variance in students’ academic procrastination. These findings indicate that students with higher levels of mathematics anxiety tend to exhibit higher levels of academic procrastination
