A Local Wisdom-Based Eco Village Conceptual Model for Supporting Sustainable Tourism Destinations in Dusun Sade
The development of cultural tourism destinations requires an approach that balances environmental, social, cultural, and economic sustainability. Although the Eco Village concept has been widely adopted as a sustainable development approach, studies integrating local wisdom into all dimensions of the Eco Village concept within indigenous communities remain limited. This study employed a qualitative case study approach to formulate a Local Wisdom-Based Eco Village Conceptual Model to support sustainable tourism development in Dusun Sade, Rembitan Village, Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia. The findings reveal that local wisdom serves as the fundamental basis for Eco Village development by integrating ecological, social, cultural, and economic dimensions into the community's daily life. This study proposes a Local Wisdom-Based Eco Village Conceptual Model that positions local wisdom as the foundation of Eco Village development, supported by stakeholder collaboration and implemented through the integration of the four Eco Village dimensions. The theoretical contribution of this model is to broaden the Eco Village concept by positioning local wisdom as the foundation integrating ecological, social, cultural, and economic dimensions, while its practical contribution is to provide a reference framework for the development of indigenous community-based tourism villages. Positive stakeholder perceptions and active participation further strengthen the implementation of local values through collaborative engagement among multiple stakeholders in supporting sustainable tourism development. The proposed model contributes conceptually by positioning local wisdom as the core framework that integrates ecological, social, cultural, and economic dimensions in developing an Eco Village within an indigenous community context.
