The Influence of Google Sites Learning Media and the Utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on the Learning Motivation of Grade X Students at MA NW Korleko
Abstract
Low student learning motivation and the suboptimal utilization of digital technology in learning indicate the need to examine the contribution of technology-based learning media to the learning process. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Google Sites utilization and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use to the learning motivation of Grade X students at MA NW Korleko, both partially and simultaneously. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study population consisted of 46 Grade X students at MA NW Korleko, and the entire population was selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 26 statement items. The research instrument met the validity and reliability criteria, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.869. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS after fulfilling classical assumption tests. The results showed that Google Sites utilization had a positive and significant contribution to students’ learning motivation, with a t-value of 3.624 and a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). In contrast, ICT utilization did not show a significant partial contribution to learning motivation, with a t-value of 1.173 and a significance value of 0.247 (p > 0.05). Simultaneously, Google Sites utilization and ICT use significantly contributed to students’ learning motivation, with an F-value of 14.306 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.372 indicates that both variables explained 37.2% of the variation in students’ learning motivation. These findings suggest that structured digital learning media, such as Google Sites, provide a stronger contribution than general ICT utilization in supporting students’ learning motivation.
