This study analyzes the impact of Facebook use on cybercrime in Pengadang Village, Central Lombok Regency, focusing on forms of crime, socio-psychological consequences, and changes in community digital behavior. Previous studies have tended to frame cybercrime as a technical issue or an urban phenomenon, leaving limited explanation of how rural social relations, interpersonal trust, and Facebook-based local economic activities shape vulnerability to digital crime. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews with nine subjects and four key informants, and field documentation. The data were analyzed through thematic coding involving data reduction, category development, theory-based interpretation, and triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The findings reveal four main patterns of Facebook-related cybercrime in Pengadang Village: online fraud through fake lotteries and giveaways, misinformation in online buying and selling, account hacking and misuse of digital identities, and social conflict emerging from Facebook interactions. These forms of cybercrime produced not only financial losses but also anxiety, shame, declining trust in online transactions, disruption of small businesses, and strained social relations among residents. The study shows that manipulative messages on Facebook become effective when they intersect with limited digital literacy, close-knit rural relations, and trust in perceived authority symbols such as public figures or convincing accounts. The contribution of this study lies in demonstrating that rural cybercrime is not merely a technological consequence but the outcome of interactions between social media affordances, local social structures, and community information-verification practices.
