The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has opened opportunities for the implementation of smart home systems that can enhance comfort, energy efficiency, and home security. However, many existing smart home systems still rely on the operation of individual, separate functions, such as temperature control or security monitoring, which reduces efficiency and ease of use. This study aims to design and develop an integrated IoT-based smart home system by combining several key functions such as gas leak detection and automatic canopy control, which can improve overall comfort and security. The system uses an MQ-2 sensor to detect gas leaks, as well as rain and light sensors to automatically control the position of the canopy. Additionally, the system is equipped with real-time information display via an LCD, allowing users to easily monitor the condition of the home. The platform used in this study is Arduino with the Arduino IDE software, which enables the system to be programmed and customized according to user needs. The testing results show that the system can operate effectively with minimal manual intervention, while also improving energy efficiency and home security. This research contributes to the creation of a more affordable, easily implemented smart home system that is accessible to various communities.
