Enhancing Students’ Motivation for Higher Education through Educational Level Socialization at Madrasah Aliyah Mambaul Ulum, Kubu Raya Regency
Abstract
The low motivation of madrasah students in rural areas to continue their higher education indicates an academic gap related to limited literacy in further education, scholarship information, and the lack of madrasah-based career mentoring models that are rarely scientifically studied in the context of strengthening student self-determination. To address this urgency, this activity implemented participatory socialization for 80 students of Madrasah Aliyah Mambaul Ulum through material presentations, motivational sessions, interactive discussions, and descriptive evaluations using pre- and post-tests that functioned as early indicators of changes in understanding, not as psychometric validation instruments. The evaluation results showed an increase in understanding scores from an average of 45% to 88%, and 90% of students reported an increased interest in continuing their education. These findings indicate a positive trend after the intervention, although it cannot be claimed as a causal relationship because it did not involve a control group. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration of a two-way socialization model with alumni testimonials and scholarship booklets as a social innovation approach to education that enriches the study of learning motivation in rural madrasah environments.
