Pengenalan Penggunaan Fitur Baru Canva Magic AI Untuk Meningkatkan Kreativitas Siswa SMK NU 1 Islamiyah Kramat Tegal

Perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) telah mendorong transformasi pembelajaran, khususnya pada bidang desain digital. Pemanfaatan AI memungkinkan proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif, efisien, dan adaptif, serta mendorong peningkatan kreativitas peserta didik. Salah satu platform yang mengintegrasikan teknologi AI dalam desain visual adalah Canva Magic AI, yang menyediakan fitur otomatis untuk membantu pengguna menghasilkan desain secara cepat dan menarik. Namun, siswa SMK NU 1 Islamiyah Kramat masih menghadapi kendala berupa rendahnya literasi digital, keterbatasan pemahaman fitur AI, serta minimnya akses terhadap pelatihan teknologi kreatif. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital, kreativitas visual, dan kompetensi teknis siswa melalui pelatihan Canva Magic AI. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung (hands-on training) yang meliputi pemaparan materi, demonstrasi fitur, diskusi, dan pendampingan intensif. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 36 siswa dari berbagai program keahlian. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test, post-test, observasi, dan dokumentasi hasil karya, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan Canva Magic AI, ditandai dengan penurunan siswa yang belum mengenal AI dari 75% menjadi 0%. Penguasaan fitur Magic Write mencapai 90%, Magic Design 85%, dan Text to Image 80%. Selain itu, kualitas kreativitas visual siswa juga meningkat. Meskipun terdapat keterbatasan perangkat, pelatihan berjalan efektif dan mendapat respons positif dari peserta, serta mendukung pencapaian SDG 4, SDG 8, dan SDG 9.
Introducing Canva’s New Magic AI Features for Enhancing Student Creativity at SMK NU 1 Islamiyah Kramat Tegal
Abstract
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has driven significant transformation in education, particularly in digital design–based learning. AI enables learning processes to become more effective, efficient, and adaptive while fostering students’ creativity. One platform that integrates AI into visual design is Canva Magic AI, which provides automated features to support fast and attractive design creation. However, students of SMK NU 1 Islamiyah Kramat still face challenges, including low digital literacy, limited understanding of AI-based features, and restricted access to structured creative technology training. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ digital literacy, visual creativity, and technical competencies through Canva Magic AI training. The method applied was hands-on training, consisting of material presentation, feature demonstrations, guided discussions, and intensive mentoring during practice sessions. The participants were 36 vocational high school students from various study programs. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and documentation of students’ works, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding and skills in using Canva Magic AI, reflected by a decrease in students unfamiliar with AI from 75% to 0%. Mastery of Magic Write reached 90%, Magic Design 85%, and Text to Image 80%. In addition, students’ visual creativity improved in terms of composition, color selection, and design relevance. Despite limitations in computer facilities, the training was conducted effectively and received positive responses, contributing to the achievement of SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 9.
