Peningkatan Kapasitas Kader Posyandu Guna Pencegahan Radang Gusi Pada Ibu Hamil Di Kelurahan Padangsambian Denpasar Tahun 2024

Every year it is estimated that 15 million babies are born prematurely and >60% of premature babies occur in Africa and South Asia. Indonesia is the fifth country with the highest number of premature babies in the world. Poor oral health in pregnant women has been linked to premature birth and low birth weight. Brushing teeth is a preventive measure against dental and oral diseases. Padangsambian Village, Denpasar, has 21 Posyandu and no training activities have been carried out for Posyandu cadres regarding the dental and oral health of pregnant women. The general objective of this community service activity is: increasing the capacity of Posyandu cadres to prevent gingivitis in pregnant women in Padangsambian Village, Denpasar. The training is carried out using methods: lectures, discussions, demonstrations and simulations (microteaching). The result was that there was a significant increase in participants' dental health knowledge (p: 0.000), apart from that participants had the ability to carry out tooth brushing education and simple dental hygiene checks. Conclusion: training in preventing gingivitis in pregnant women increases dental health knowledge, tooth brushing counseling skills and simple dental hygiene check skills in Posyandu cadres, Padangsambian Village, Denpasar.
