Empowering Orphanage Children Through a Techno-Sociopreneur Approach: A Study on the Implementation of Skills and Digital Literacy Programs at Mizan Amanah
This community service program aims to empower orphanage children through a techno-sociopreneur approach, focusing on digital literacy and basic entrepreneurial skills. Implemented at Mizan Amanah Orphanage, the program involved 12 female children aged 7–12 years. A participatory method was employed, combining interactive lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and game-based learning via the Quizizz platform. Evaluation results showed significant improvements in both content comprehension (from 50% to 83%) and learning interest (from 60% to 75%). Beyond cognitive gains, the program fostered self-confidence and teamwork among the participants. Major challenges included limited learning facilities and varying levels of student comprehension, which were addressed through differentiated instruction strategies. The initiative also contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4), particularly in promoting inclusive and quality education. The outcomes demonstrate that a techno-sociopreneur model can serve as an effective and sustainable framework for empowering marginalized children. It offers practical experience, nurtures creativity, and prepares young learners to navigate the digital era with confidence. The success of this program highlights the potential for replication in other orphanages to support youth development through equitable access to digital and entrepreneurial education.
