Pelatihan Pembuatan Jamu Herbal untuk Santri: Alternatif Pengobatan Diare dan Pendukung Kesehatan di Pondok Pesantren Daru Muhyiddin NW

Program pelatihan pembuatan jamu herbal di Pondok Pesantren Daru Muhyiddin NW bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan santri dalam meracik jamu sebagai alternatif pengobatan diare dan pendukung kesehatan. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan meliputi observasi awal, pelatihan berbasis teori dan praktik, serta evaluasi menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi. Sebanyak 50 santri menjadi peserta dalam pelatihan ini. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dari 40% menjadi 88% dan keterampilan meracik jamu dari 30% menjadi 85%. Meskipun penggunaan jamu herbal telah dikenal luas di masyarakat, minimnya pelatihan terstruktur di kalangan santri masih menjadi celah yang nyata dalam pengembangan pendidikan kesehatan komunitas. Pelatihan ini memanfaatkan pendekatan experiential learning dan andragogi yang efektif dalam membangun keterampilan praktis dan meningkatkan kesadaran kesehatan berbasis sumber daya lokal. Selain menghasilkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi peserta, pelatihan ini juga mendorong santri untuk menjadi agen perubahan di lingkungan mereka. Program ini memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai model pelatihan berbasis herbal di pesantren lain, sejalan dengan pencapaian SDG 3 dan SDG 6.
Training on Making Herbal Medicine for Santri: an Alternative Treatment for Diarrhea and Health Support at Pondok Pesantren Daru Muhyiddin NW
The herbal medicine training program at Pondok Pesantren Daru Muhyiddin NW aimed to enhance students’ skills in preparing herbal remedies as an alternative treatment for diarrhea and to support general health. This community service used a method consisting of initial observation, theory-and-practice-based training, and evaluation through questionnaires, interviews, and observation. Fifty students participated in this training. Results indicated an increase in knowledge from 40% to 88% and practical skills in concocting herbal medicine from 30% to 85%. Although herbal medicine is widely known in the community, there remains a clear gap in structured training among pesantren students. This training applied experiential learning and andragogical approaches effectively to develop hands-on skills and promote health awareness using local resources. Beyond significant improvement in participants’ competencies, the program also empowered students to become health agents in their communities. This initiative has strong potential to be replicated as a model for herbal-based training in other pesantren, contributing to the achievement of SDG 3 and SDG 6.
