Early Detection of Cervical Cancer through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA Test) for Women of Reproductive Age at "Women's Prison" Bulu Semarang
Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in Indonesia. Early detection using the Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) test is an effective screening method, especially for women with limited access to healthcare services. This community service activity was conducted at the Women's Prison (Lapas Wanita) Bulu Semarang to raise awareness and promote early detection of cervical cancer through VIA testing. A total of 29 participants underwent screening performed by a team of obstetrics and gynecology specialists. In addition to screening, participants received education on reproductive health and cervical cancer prevention. The results of this activity indicate that the VIA test can be easily implemented and provides immediate results, allowing for prompt follow-up actions for participants at risk. This initiative supports the national program to reduce cervical cancer incidence and improve women's health in Indonesia.
