The Effect of Butterfly Passing Drill and Endurance Passing Drill on the Accuracy of Underhand Passing in Junior Volleyball Players
Abstract
The issue addressed in this study is the low accuracy of underhand passing among junior volleyball players. This study aims to evaluate the effect of two training methods, the butterfly passing drill and endurance passing drill, on the underhand passing accuracy of junior volleyball players at the RVC Seteluk Atas club. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design with two experimental groups, the sample of 25 junior players was divided into two training groups. Data analysis using the paired sample t-test indicated significant improvements in passing accuracy, with an average increase of 1.31 points in the butterfly passing drill group (p = 0.031) and 3.17 points in the endurance passing drill group (p = 0.014). However, the independent sample t-test results showed no significant difference between the two methods (p = 0.714). This study concludes that both training methods are effective in enhancing passing accuracy, and coaches are advised to combine these methods for optimal results. This combination is expected to improve both reaction sharpness and endurance.
