Penerapan teknologi digital, khususnya dalam bentuk akuntansi digital, semakin penting dalam mengelola operasional dan keuangan UMKM, terutama di sektor kuliner. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana penerapan akuntansi digital dapat mendukung keberlanjutan bisnis UMKM kuliner di Kota Tomohon, Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumentasi, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi manfaat utama dari penggunaan teknologi, termasuk efisiensi dalam pengelolaan transaksi, pemantauan keuangan yang lebih baik, serta peningkatan transparansi dan akuntabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan akuntansi digital membantu UMKM dalam mengelola keuangan dengan lebih efisien, menghindari pemborosan, dan mempermudah akses ke pembiayaan. Selain itu, digitalisasi juga mendukung transformasi bisnis yang lebih modern dan berkelanjutan. Meskipun demikian, tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah adaptasi terhadap teknologi baru dan perubahan dalam kebiasaan pengelolaan keuangan yang telah berlangsung lama. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan dan pendampingan sangat diperlukan untuk memastikan implementasi yang sukses. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan UMKM kuliner di Kota Tomohon dan daerah lain yang menghadapi tantangan serupa.
The Application of Digital Accounting in Creating a Sustainable Business for Culinary UMKM in Tomohon City
Abstract
The implementation of digital technology, particularly digital accounting, is increasingly important in managing operations and finances of SMEs, especially in the culinary sector. This study aims to explore how the application of digital accounting can support the sustainability of culinary SMEs in Tomohon City, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation analysis, this research identifies key benefits of technology use, including efficiency in transaction management, improved financial monitoring, and enhanced transparency and accountability. The findings reveal that digital accounting helps SMEs manage finances more efficiently, avoid waste, and facilitate access to financing. Additionally, digitization supports a more modern and sustainable business transformation. However, the main challenges faced are adapting to new technology and changing long-standing financial management habits. Therefore, training and mentoring are crucial to ensure successful implementation. This research is expected to contribute to the development of culinary SMEs in Tomohon City and other regions facing similar challenges.
