Systematic Literature Review: The Use of Microsoft Teams for Learning Effectiveness
Abstract
Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration application made by Microsoft with various features provided, such as video conferencing, chat, reminders, calendar, file storage, and so on. Significant Microsoft Teams updates to improve learning effectiveness include integration with various Microsoft 365 apps, collaboration features, and the ability to manage learning online. Microsoft Teams enables easier communication, file sharing, and collaboration between students and teachers, making online learning more efficient and effective. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of Microsoft Teams as an online learning medium based on the latest scientific literature. In particular, this study evaluates how Microsoft Teams is used for learning and how updates to Microsoft Teams features including integration with Microsoft 365, collaborative capabilities, and digital learning management contribute to increased motivation, learning interest, material understanding, and student learning outcomes at various levels of education. Through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach. A study was conducted on eight selected articles from the 2019–2024 range that are relevant to the topic of the effectiveness of Microsoft Teams at various levels of education. Of the 459 articles identified, 14 relevant articles were used as primary sources. The results of the synthesis show that Microsoft Teams has been shown to be effective in increasing learning effectiveness. The platform also supports interaction, collaboration, and easy access to learning materials, both in the context of full online learning and blended learning. With easy-to-use and functional features, Microsoft Teams is considered to be able to support the learning process significantly. This research makes an important contribution for educators, technology developers, and policymakers in optimizing digital-based learning technologies.
