Pengaruh Latihan Plyometric terhadap Performa Mawashi Geri pada Karateka Remaja: Studi Perbandingan Front Cone Hops dan Split Squat Jumps
DOI:

This study aims to analyze the effect of plyometric training on mawashi geri kick skills in Inkanas karateka SMAN 1 Keruak by considering the level of muscle power. The method used was a 2x2 factorial experiment with a pre-test/post-test design. The study sample comprised 40 karateka aged 15–18, divided into high and low power groups. The research instruments included a vertical jump test to measure vibration power and a test of the number of mawashi geri kicks for 30 seconds. The results showed that front cone hop training increased the average kick from 8.9 to 11.1 in the high power group and 9.9 to 12.3 in the low power group. Split squat jump training increased the average kick from 9.3 to 11.5 in the high power group and from 9.8 to 11.9 in the low power group. The ANOVA test showed a significance value <0.05, indicating a significant difference between groups, with greater improvement in high-power athletes. These findings confirm that plyometrics effectively improve mawashi geri kick performance and are worthy of inclusion in karate training programs.
