VO2Max Analysis of Female Soccer Players in Banjarbaru City
Abstract
This study aims to determine the aerobic capacity level (VO2Max) of female football players of Banjarbaru Women’s, as one of the primary indicators of physical fitness that plays an essential role in football performance. VO2Max reflects the body’s maximal ability to consume oxygen during high-intensity physical activity, and therefore greatly influences a player’s endurance throughout a match. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method, with data collected using the Multistage Fitness Test (Beep Test), which was subsequently converted into VO2Max values based on established measurement standards. The subjects consisted of 17 active players of Banjarbaru Women’s. The results showed that the players’ average VO2Max was 32.39 ml/kg/min. A total of 47% of the players were in the good category, while the rest were distributed across very good, moderate, and very poor categories. Overall, the players’ aerobic capacity is sufficient to support game demands; however, 41% of the players still have moderate to low aerobic capacity and require additional physical training. In conclusion, the VO2Max level of Banjarbaru Women’s players is generally in the good category, but further fitness improvement is still needed to achieve more uniform physical performance among all players.
