Vocational Workshop Management Training at SMKN 1 Lingsar, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province
Abstract
The implementation of an effective workshop management information system plays a strategic role in improving the quality of learning in vocational high schools, particularly in shaping student competencies and teacher professionalism. However, at SMKN 1 Lingsar, West Lombok, workshop management practices have not yet been systematically documented through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). In addition, aspects such as material management, raw material usage, machine maintenance scheduling, damage reporting, and waste management have not been optimally executed. This community service activity aimed to provide training for students and teachers on the structured implementation of a workshop management information system. The method consisted of three main stages: direct observation, counseling sessions, and evaluation. The results indicate that the training materials were well understood and provided significant benefits for the participants. Improvements were observed in knowledge, skills, and motivation among both teachers and students in managing the workshop more effectively and efficiently. This training also raised awareness of the importance of SOP documentation as an effort to enhance the quality of vocational learning.
