Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Melalui Penggunaan Mesin Produksi dan Pemasaran Asap Cair di Gapoktan Jalijaya Talang Jali Lampung Utara

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian ekonomi anggota Gapoktan Jalijaya Talang Jali, Lampung Utara melalui penerapan teknologi mesin produksi asap cair dan penguatan pemasaran. Mitra menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan kemampuan teknis dalam mengolah limbah pertanian, rendahnya efisiensi produksi asap cair secara manual, serta minimnya strategi pemasaran yang berkelanjutan. Permasalahan tersebut menyebabkan produk tidak memiliki daya saing dan belum memberikan peningkatan pendapatan bagi anggota Gapoktan. Pemecahan masalah dilakukan melalui pendekatan partisipatif, mencakup: (1) pembuatan dan instalasi mesin produksi asap cair, (2) pendampingan standarisasi mutu, pengemasan, dan labeling, (3) pelatihan pemasaran dan branding lokal, serta (4) monitoring dan evaluasi terhadap peningkatan kapasitas produksi dan penjualan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek teknis dan ekonomi. Kapasitas produksi meningkat dari 0 liter menjadi rata-rata 6–10 liter per produksi. Penggunaan asap cair menurunkan biaya pengendalian hama hingga 54%, mengurangi intensitas serangan hama dari 35% menjadi 18%, dan meningkatkan hasil gabah sebesar 1.130 kg/ha. Secara jangka panjang, program ini memperkuat kemandirian ekonomi Gapoktan melalui terbentuknya unit usaha berbasis pengelolaan limbah, peningkatan daya tawar produk lokal, serta peluang diversifikasi usaha berbasis teknologi pirolisis. Program ini juga mendorong praktik pengelolaan limbah yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi langsung pada pencapaian SDG 8 (pertumbuhan ekonomi), SDG 9 (inovasi teknologi), dan SDG 12 (produksi berkelanjutan), serta menunjukkan bahwa teknologi asap cair efektif, berkelanjutan, dan dapat direplikasi di wilayah lain.
Empowering Rural Communities Through Liquid Smoke Production Technology and Marketing Enhancement in Gapoktan Jalijaya Talang Jali, North Lampung
Abstract
This community service program aims to enhance the capacity and economic independence of members of the Jalijaya Talang Jali Farmers’ Group Association (Gapoktan) in North Lampung through the application of liquid smoke production technology and strengthened marketing strategies. The partners face several challenges, including limited technical skills in processing agricultural waste into value-added products, low efficiency in manual liquid smoke production, and the absence of effective and sustainable marketing strategies. These issues reduce product competitiveness and have not contributed to increased income for Gapoktan members. Problem-solving efforts were carried out through a participatory and applicative approach, consisting of: (1) designing and installing a liquid smoke production machine, (2) assisting in quality standardization, packaging, and labeling, (3) training in marketing and local branding, and (4) monitoring and evaluating improvements in production capacity and sales. The results show significant improvements in both technical and economic aspects. Production capacity increased from 0 liters to an average of 6–10 liters per cycle. The use of liquid smoke reduced pest control costs by up to 54%, lowered pest attack intensity from 35% to 18%, and increased rice yield by 1,130 kg/ha. In the long term, the program strengthens Gapoktan’s economic independence through the establishment of a waste-based business unit, improved product competitiveness, and new opportunities for business diversification using pyrolysis technology. It also encourages more environmentally friendly waste management practices. This program directly contributes to achieving SDG 8 (economic growth), SDG 9 (innovation and infrastructure), and SDG 12 (responsible production), demonstrating that liquid smoke technology is effective, sustainable, and replicable in other regions.
