MTs Riyadhul Huda menampilkan model kepemimpinan administratif-partisipatif berbasis evaluasi diri melalui EDS, pembagian tugas sesuai kompetensi, supervisi berkala, dan evaluasi program terstruktur.
Principal Leadership in Implementing School Management Standards: A Comparative Study at SMP Manba’ul Ulum Asshiddiqiyah Jakarta and MTs Riyadhul Huda Cicalengka
This study aims to analyze principal/madrasah head leadership in implementing school management standards at SMP Manba’ul Ulum Asshiddiqiyah Jakarta and MTs Riyadhul Huda Cicalengka. Previous studies have mainly focused on academic supervision and learning quality, while comparative studies on leadership in implementing management standards in private Islamic educational institutions remain limited. This research employed a descriptive-comparative qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, documentation studies, and literature review. The data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic coding, interpretation, and conclusion drawing using George R. Terry’s Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling framework. The findings show that both principals/madrasah heads applied participatory, adaptive, and data-based leadership, but with different patterns. SMP Manba’ul Ulum demonstrated an adaptive-technological leadership model through SWOT analysis, learning digitalization, CCTV-based monitoring, the establishment of a violence prevention and handling team, and student mentoring through homeroom teachers. MTs Riyadhul Huda demonstrated an administrative-participatory leadership model based on self-evaluation through School Self-Evaluation, competency-based task distribution, scheduled supervision, and structured program evaluation. This study confirms that the effectiveness of school management standards depends on the capacity of principals/madrasah heads to transform data, participation, and evaluation into contextual and sustainable managerial decisions.
