Abstract

The Implementation of Character Values in Physical Education, Sports, and Health Learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sewon

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of character values in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning at SMP Negeri 1 Sewon, focusing on respect and responsibility. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, using a Likert-scale questionnaire as the main instrument. The sample consisted of 111 eighth-grade students selected through proportional random sampling. The results showed an average respect score of 70 (SD = 7), with 42% in the "moderate" category and 30% in "low" and "very low" categories. For responsibility, the average score was 43 (SD = 3.5), with 46% in the "moderate" category and 30% in "low" and "very low" categories. These findings suggest that character values implementation is adequate but uneven. Recommendations include applying the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model and mentoring programs to enhance students' character values.
