Tingkat Kecemasan dan Kepercayaan Diri Atlet Basket SMAN 1 Narmada dalam Menghadapi Pertandingan

Penelitian ini mengkaji tingkat kecemasan dan kepercayaan diri atlet basket SMAN 1 Narmada saat menghadapi pertandingan, mengingat pentingnya aspek psikologis dalam performa olahraga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kecemasan dan kepercayaan diri atlet serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap performa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang melibatkan seluruh populasi atlet basket sekolah, yaitu 30 atlet. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket tertutup dengan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 40% atlet memiliki tingkat kecemasan yang sangat tinggi, sedangkan 26,67% memiliki kepercayaan diri sangat tinggi. Variasi dalam kecemasan dan kepercayaan diri ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kondisi psikologis yang mempengaruhi performa atlet. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa kecemasan tinggi dapat menghambat performa, sementara kepercayaan diri tinggi berkontribusi positif. Rekomendasi mencakup perlunya program pelatihan mental untuk membantu atlet mengelola kecemasan dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri melalui dukungan pelatih dan lingkungan sosial.
Levels of Anxiety and Self-Confidence of Basketball Athletes at SMAN 1 Narmada in Facing Competitions
Abstract
This study examines the levels of anxiety and self-confidence among basketball athletes at SMAN 1 Narmada when facing competitions, highlighting the importance of psychological factors in athletic performance. The research aims to identify athletes’ anxiety and confidence levels and analyze their impact on performance. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the study surveyed 30 school athletes through a closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire. Results indicate that 40% of athletes exhibit very high anxiety levels, while 26.67% demonstrate very high self-confidence. This variation suggests that differing psychological conditions influence athlete performance. The study concludes that high anxiety can hinder performance, while high self-confidence contributes positively. Recommendations include implementing mental training programs to help athletes manage anxiety and boost confidence through coach support and social environment.
