Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses budaya mutu di SMA Negeri 1 Mataram. Masalah mutu pendidikan masih menjadi perhatian penting pemerintah provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. SMA Negeri 1 Mataram sebagai sekolah populer dan favorite di Ibu Kota Provinsi ini telah menjadikan mutu sebagai budaya. Namun kurangnya kajian tentang praktik budaya mutu sekolah secara terstruktur di tingkat SMA menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Temuan penelitian ini akan menjadi contoh bagi sekolah lain dalam menciptakan budaya mutu sehingga mampu memperbaiki kualitas pendidikan di Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif studi kasus. Sumber data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses budaya mutu di SMA Negeri 1 Mataram melalui tiga proses yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Proses perencanaan meliputi penyusunan visi misi sekolah dan rencana kerja sekolah. Proses pelaksanaan meliputi 1)melibatkan seluruh anggota organisasi dalam menjalankan program sekolah, 2)menyediakan sarana dan prasarana yang berkualitas dalam menjalankan program sekolah, 3)menyiapkan siswa  masuk perguruan tinggi dan kedinasan, 4)menanamkan nilai-nilai unggul pada siswa, 5)menerapkan budaya belajar dalam program ekstrakulikuler,6)memberikan pelatihan profesional kepada guru, 7) Melakukan Studi Banding ke Sekolah-sekolah Terbaik di Luar Kota Mataram dan, 8)adanya dukungan alumni.  Proses evaluasi meliputi evaluasi kinerja yang dilakukan setiap tahun, evaluasi sumatif untuk siswa, evaluasi wali kelas setiap bulan, evaluasi program ektrakulikuler setiap semester dan evaluasi kegiatan sekolah dilakukan setiap usai kegiatan. Seluruh proses tersebut telah memenuhi indikator budaya mutu.

Implementation of Quality Culture at SMA Negeri 1 Mataram: A Case Study of Three Stages of School Quality Strengthening

 This research aims to describe the quality culture process at State Senior High School One Mataram. The issue of education quality remains a significant concern for the provincial government of West Nusa Tenggara. State Senior High School One Mataram, as a popular and favorite school in the provincial capital, has made quality a culture. However, the lack of structured studies on school quality culture practices at the high school level serves as the background for this research. The findings of this research will serve as an example for other schools in creating a quality culture, thereby improving the quality of education in West Nusa Tenggara. This research was conducted using a qualitative case study method. Data sources were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research results show that the quality culture process at State Senior High School One Mataram goes through three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning process includes the formulation of the school's vision and mission and the school work plan. The implementation process includes 1) involving all members of the organization in running the school program, 2) providing quality facilities and infrastructure in running the school program, 3) preparing students for higher education and vocational schools, 4) instilling excellent values in students, 5) applying a learning culture in extracurricular programs, 6) providing professional training to teachers, 7) conducting benchmarking studies with the best schools outside Mataram, and 8) having alumni support. The evaluation process includes performance evaluations conducted annually, summative evaluations for students, monthly evaluations by homeroom teachers, semester evaluations of extracurricular programs, and evaluations of school activities conducted after each event. All of these processes have met the quality culture indicators.
