The Influence of Leader Member Exchange and Self-Efficacy on The Innovation of Elementary School Teachers in West Lombok District

Teachers are required to continue to innovate in improving the overall quality of education. The innovations made by teachers cover various aspects of their professional practice. The ability of teachers to innovate is influenced by various factors, including self-efficacy and the quality of professional relationships with school principals. This study aims to analyze the influence of Leader Member Exchange (LMX) and self-efficacy on the innovation of primary school teachers in West Lombok Regency. The approach used was quantitative with an associative research design. The research sample amounted to 335 elementary school teachers selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that LMX and self-efficacy simultaneously contributed 35.4% to teacher innovation, with a significance level of 0.000. Partially, self-efficacy made a greater contribution than LMX, which amounted to 57.9% and 12.8%, respectively. This finding indicates that teachers' perceptions of their own capacity, as well as the quality of professional interactions with principals, play an important role in driving innovation in educational practice. Therefore, strengthening self-efficacy and improving the quality of collaborative leadership need to be prioritized in teacher competency development programs.
